The ZWO ASI2600MC Pro is a cooled color CMOS camera designed specifically for astrophotography. It is based on the Sony IMX571 APS-C sensor with a sensor area of 23.5 × 15.7 mm and a diagonal of 28.3 mm. With a native resolution of 6248 × 4176 pixels (26 megapixels) and a pixel size of 3.76 µm, it offers high detail and a wide field of view.
Thanks to native 16-bit ADC support, the camera achieves a dynamic range of up to 14 f-stops. This enables smooth transitions in brightness and detailed images ranging from faint nebulae to bright star fields in a single frame.
The two-stage TEC cooling system lowers the sensor temperature to 30–35 °C below ambient. This minimizes dark current noise: to 0.0022 e⁻/s/pix at 0 °C and to just 0.00012 e⁻/s/pix at –20 °C. When combined with HCG mode at a gain of 100 or higher, readout noise is significantly reduced while the full dynamic range is preserved.
The camera body weighs only 0.7 kg and is equipped with USB 3.0 for fast data transfer. The back focus distance of 55 mm allows for flexible use with correctors and filter wheels. The included adapters and connectors ensure easy integration into existing setups.
