Based on the basics of the popular Evostar series with Doublet ED refractors, Sky-Watcher has developed the completely new Evolux ED series. It is designed for the demanding astrophotographer who wants a lightweight telescope with high performance. Of course, the Evolux ED models with their excellent performance are also ideal for visual observation. The Evolux ED telescopes have been further developed, especially in important areas such as optics and mechanics, to make them perfect for use as a wide-field instrument to always have with you. The Evolux ED apochromats are the ideal mix of high-quality, extremely low-refractive glasses and their properties. The Doublet lens was developed from a perfectly matching combination of optical glasses including an ED glass element and delivers a perfectly sharp star image against a raven-black background with a high-contrast sky image, while visually visible color errors are excluded. All lens elements are coated with the advanced Sky-Watcher Metallic High-Transmission Coating (MHTC™), which is one of the highest quality multi-layer coatings in its class and enables light transmission of up to 99.5%. The Evolux-62ED can also be used as a deluxe guiding telescope.

The Evolux-62ED comes in a foam-lined aluminium case and is equipped with a 2.4″ dual-speed rack and pinion cable and a tube clamp with Vixen-Norm dovetail bar. The dew shield can be inserted for easy transport. Optionally there is a two-lens 0.9x reducer / flattener for this telescope which is equipped with an ED lens and is supplied with a rotator. This gives you an optimized, four-lens optical system with two ED lenses.
