The compact Sky-Watcher K100 Klevtsov-Cassegrain optical system is an interesting catadioptic design consisting of a primary mirror and secondary mirror, with a small corrector lens in front of the secondary mirror. This folds the focal length of the telescope into a relatively compact format, ideal for observing double stars or surface details of the moon or the brighter planets. The telescope is equipped with a friction focuser with two focus knobs (patented design), which moves the primary mirror to achieve focus. In addition, a distance scale has been added to indicate the position of the focuser to bring objects into focus at distances of 8m, 14m and infinity. This focuser design enables particularly fast focusing without the need for a lot of trial and error.
